Contemporary Fused Glass Art

I love using texture and colour in my work and am intrigued by the refaction of light. Glass is a wonderful media to use and it allows me to develop this with a rich diversity.

My inspiration comes from natual themes. I aim to combine shapes and textures in diferent layers, to daw the observe into the work and to give a sense of depth, perhaps of things hidden and of peacefulness. Moments of calm in an otherwise often frantic world. I love the interaction of light with cloured glass, and as this changes it brings life to the work. Its vibrant colour is stunning in any setting and particularly in the garden in the winter when colour is in short supply.

Cambridgeshire-based artist Caroline Richardson uses both transparent and opaque glass to create beautiful and divese works of art, for both inside and out.
